Professional Awards and Honors
- Master, American College of Physicians (MACP). This award is given to internists with distinguished records of service to the American College of Physicians and to the profession. Dr. Hegstad served as American College of Physicians Governor for Southern California Region II from 1996-2000 and served two terms as President of the California Chapters. He has been a member of the Chapter Health and Public Policy Committee for more than a decade. "ACP Grand Rounds," a lecture series started 1997, continues biannually on campus. Phil Gold, MD, MACP, Professor of Medicine has been a steady mentor for 25 years. (04/2010)
