About Nancy E. Kawahara, PharmD, MSEd

Dr. Kawahara received both her doctor of pharmacy (1982) and master in education (1986) degrees from the University of Southern California (USC).  She served as a clinical assistant professor in the School of Pharmacy at USC, an assistant professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy, and an associate professor in the College of Pharmacy at Western University of Health Sciences prior to joining the faculty at Loma Linda University (LLU) as an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice in 2002.  She currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Co-Curriciulum and Mentorship in the LLU School of Pharmacy.

Dr. Kawahara founded the Camp Conrad Chinnock Diabetes Camp Outreach Program for pharmacy students in 2013 and currently serves as co-director.  She teaches courses in the doctor of pharmacy program focused on the development of basic pharmacy practice skills as well as oversees the professional development program. 

Dr. Kawahara’s research interests are in the area of education and diabetes.
