About Shannon A. Rivera, MPAS
Shannon Rivera is a Southern California native where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Medical Care from Loma Linda University in 2011, all while concurrently working as an Emergency Medical Technician in a local community Emergency Department. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Sciences in 2014. Since graduation Professor Rivera has worked as an Emergency Department provider at three rapid-paced, high volume community hospitals with these sites holding designations as Primary Stroke, STEMI, and Pediatric centers. In 2021, Shannon returned to join the Loma Linda Physician Assistant Program as full-time faculty as a Didactic Coordinator. Her responsibilities include instruction for Clinical Medicine and overseeing Anatomy.
