A Message From Dr. Hart

Dear LLU Students, Faculty and Staff,

Once again this year, our commencement celebrations will require some adjustments to our usual proceedings, but we remain committed to honoring our graduates during the weekends of May 28-30, and June 11-14, 2021, in what will be our 115th commencement year.

Needing to plan for these important events with adequate time, and understanding that we are still facing a number of unknowns in the future weeks, the decision has been made for this year's commencement ceremonies to take place using the drive-thru approach, one vehicle per graduate. Commencements will take place at the following times:

Sunday, May 30

  • 8:30 a.m. – School of Medicine
  • 1:30 p.m. – School of Pharmacy
  • 5:00 p.m. – School of Dentistry

Sunday, June 13

  • 8:00 a.m. – School of Nursing
  • 12:00 noon – School of Public Health
  • 3:30 p.m. – School of Behavioral Health & School of Religion
  • 6:00 p.m. – San Manuel Gateway College

Monday, June 14

  • All Day – School of Allied Health Professions
(timed by program throughout the day; the School will inform the graduates)

Baccalaureate services for both weekends are being planned as well, for Saturday, May 29 (Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy), and Saturday, June 12 (Schools of Allied Health Professions, Behavioral Health, Nursing, Public Health, Religion, and San Manuel Gateway College). We are still determining the final format for these religious services, as we continue to monitor guidelines and restrictions for churches reopening. Information will be provided as it becomes available.

Schools are also planning the usual commencement-related events such as hoodings, consecrations, pinnings, etc. and they will communicate directly with their graduates as to the final format and platform that will be used, always within the established CDC, state, and local guidelines.

Additional information, logistics, route maps, and instructions will be made available as they are finalized and we get closer to these weekends. The drive-thru segments of the ceremonies will be streamed live and recorded as they take place, and will be included in a final ceremony video that will be uploaded to the website following commencement weekends.

We will update our commencement website as information becomes available.

Again, we are proud of the class of 2021, and look forward to honoring their accomplishments.
