Commencement Rescheduled COVID-19 Donations

Dear Graduates and Friends of Loma Linda University,

On behalf of Loma Linda University, I would like to invite you and your family to attend our 114th commencement, on September 5-6, 2020.

As many of you know, a few weeks ago, we made the difficult decision to cancel our in-person commencement ceremonies and related events scheduled in May and June of this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This was very disappointing to all of us, and especially those of you who expected to celebrate the completion of your academic achievements.  We immediately went to work exploring the best way to honor and recognize our graduates, and a plan was developed for a fall commencement weekend.  While we recognize that some of our graduates will not be able to return on these dates, we do hope that most will be able to come and celebrate with us.

The weekend will include baccalaureate services on Saturday, September 5, in the Loma Linda University Church of Seventh-day Adventists. Commencement ceremonies will take place on Sunday, September 6, in the Drayson Center.  As plans evolve and finalize in the coming weeks, we will provide information to our graduates in a timely manner; in addition, this website will be updated as new information becomes available.

This year, we will be producing a digital graduation program, with each graduate’s picture next to their name; we anticipate having this program available on our website on May 22 (Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy), and on June 12 (Allied Health Professions, Behavioral Health, Nursing, Public Health, and Religion).

Thank you for your understanding in these unusual times, and thank you for being part of our Loma Linda campus and experience during the last few years.

I am proud of the achievements of the Class of 2020, and I hope to see many of you in September, and share in this important and memorable time with all of you.

Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH
