Speaker: Yi Shen Ma

Speaker Bio: Yi Shen Ma is an assistant professor of Religion and Ethical Studies at Loma Linda University. In 2008, he earned an undergraduate degree in Music and Pre-Seminary Studies from La Sierra University; he then pastored San Gabriel Chinese Church and served in the United States Navy as a religious program specialist. 

While completing a master’s in Religion, Ethics and Politics at Claremont School of Theology, Dr. Ma became a development director for Adventist Peace Fellowship. Next, he took his gifts to serve as an associate pastor at Los Angeles Chinese Seventh-day Adventist Church and taught as an adjunct professor of religion at La Sierra University before earning a PhD from Claremont School of Theology. 

Dr. Ma’s areas of interest include philosophical ethics, theological ethics, political theory, and post-colonialism.
