Course Description:

The overall objective of this symposium is to present information on advancements in the field of interventional cardiology. Focused topics will include the interventional management of cardiogenic shock, antiplatelet therapy after PCI, and trnascatheter therapies for structural heart disease.

By the end of this conference, the attendee will be able to:

Review best practices in supporting the patient in cardiogenic shock with revascularization and mechanical circulatory support.
Recognize the role for mechanical support in complex and high-risk indicated percutaneous coronary interventions.
Discuss the latest evidence in antiplatelet therapy both in primary prevention and after percutaneous coronary interventions.
Describe new developments in transcatheter therapies for strucutural heart disease
Describe the latest research on the benefits of left ventricular unloading in the setting of acute MI.
Review the evidence for and against early angiography in cardiac arrest with ROSC.
Define the guidelines and the role of the Heart Team in the management of the patient with Left Main or multivessel coronary artery disease.
Discuss the most up-to-date evidence on revascularization in the patient with stable ischemic heart disease.
Appreciate the different imaging modalities in the guidance of structural heart interventions.
Review current indications in transcatheter aortic valve replacement for patients with severe aortic stenosis at low, intermediate, and high surgical risk.
