After you apply to Loma Linda University, your program and school will carefully review and consider your application. This may take some time. Waiting for a response can be stressful, but rest assured your school will let you know their decision as soon as possible.

If you have questions about application status, contact your school. The admissions office isn’t able to answer application status questions during this time.

If you’ve been accepted, congratulations!

If you’ve been accepted by your program, you’re now a student at LLU. Welcome to our community of passionate learners and compassionate health professionals.

You will be contacted with specific information from your program directly, but here are some other helpful next steps:

If you weren’t accepted, don’t give up.

For many of us, the call to serve others rings clearest. After all, it’s no coincidence that compassion is the first of LLU’s core values. If you hear that call — if you feel that compassion — we know we don’t have to tell you, “Don’t give up.” Because we know, no matter where your path takes you, we’ll be hearing about you.

If that call has been quieted, though, we know how hard it can be to keep going. But history is full of people who faced seemingly impassable obstacles and then went on to excel in their field — or even change the world. Our core value of excellence tells us to take the same path, to never give up. With that path in mind, here are a few steps you can take:

  1. First, take a step back and breathe. Pray. Rest. Eat some really good food. Your physical, mental and spiritual health is more important than anything else.
  2. Consider all your options. Check out alternative career paths, other programs or ways to make the most out of a gap year. Make yourself a better candidate.
  3. Find a mentor who can help you learn more about your program or career field. Gain unique insights and leverage what you learn.
  4. When you’re ready, go back to your application with a critical eye. Show it to others you trust to give you honest feedback. Reach out to your program for suggestions.;
  5. Finally, try, try again. Apply to your program (or even a new one) the next chance you get, or whenever you’re ready.

We’ll be here waiting, and we truly do hope to see you soon.
